A colour consultation helps you cut through the overwhelm of endless paint samples. We assess your space(s), light, existing finishes and the mood you want to create, then deliver a clear, cohesive paint schedule so you can move from indecision to confidence.

A colour consultation is a 90-minute session (either in person or virtual) creating a full paint colour scheme followed by paint schedules and samples.
A Colour Edit is a 45-minute video conversation to refine or validate your ideas, giving you direction without the full documentation.

No. We’re completely independent and brand-agnostic, meaning we work across all major paint brands in New Zealand to find the best fit for your project.

Absolutely. We create cohesive interior and exterior schemes so your home feels consistent and considered from the inside out.

We offer virtual sessions nationwide and occasionally travel within New Zealand for in-home consultations. If you’re outside Auckland, just get in touch and we’ll let you know what options are available.

It’s a fair question and one we hear often. Paint store advice is a sales tool, the goal is to sell that brand’s paint, not explore all your options. Many NZ paint brands now charge for consultations while Pigment’s advice is brand agnostic, design-led and tailored to your home and lifestyle.

Virtual Colour Edit

A focused online session for quick, confident direction on your colour choices. Perfect if you’re stuck between options, want a professional opinion, or need guidance before committing.

Pigment was founded to bridge the gap between full service interior design and the limited advice available in retail paint stores. We saw homeowners overwhelmed by choice, painters slowed down by client indecision and designers who wanted to push colour further but didn’t have the time or tools to do so.
Led by colour specialist Amie White, Pigment brings deep expertise in colour strategy and design direction. With hundreds of in-home and virtual consultations behind her, Amie guides colour decisions across homes, brands and design teams alike - combining independence, experience and a passion for making colour simple.
